Biography

Lyndsey Toeppen joined Sandbox Industries in 2017 to help launch the firm’s insurtech practice, bringing 15 years of operational and strategic experience in the private and public sectors. As a Vice President of Sandbox Insurtech Ventures, Lyndsey leads deals, manages investor relationships, serves on portfolio company boards, and helps shape fund strategy. 

Before joining Sandbox, Lyndsey was a Senior Policy Advisor at the Department of Homeland Security where she helped launch the office of cyber policy, led the formation of a cross-Departmental cyber strategy, and worked alongside the National Security Council on the development of several interagency executive policy directives. Prior to that role, she served at the Department of Defense as an international advance officer to Secretaries Gates and Panetta. Lyndsey started her career at Google in its New Business Development group (a precursor to Google Ventures), evaluating new market opportunities, early-stage technology adoption, and start-up partnerships in pursuit of exploratory strategic initiatives. 

Lyndsey holds an M.S. and B.S. from Stanford University.
